Trasi Jang is a Vancouver-based photographer with diverse photographic experience.
While completing her B.A. in International Development Studies at the University of Toronto, she studied photography at Ryerson University and the Ontario College of Art & Design. After moving to Trinidad in 1997, she began working full-time as a photographer - first for a commercial photography studio and later on her own. From 2000 to 2003, she was the exclusive photographer for the Central Bank of Trinidad & Tobago and the University of the West Indies Principal's Office. Her experience abroad led to assignments for the University of British Columbia and McGill University. In 2005, she was the exclusive photographer for the Former Foreign Ministers Conference attended by former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
In 1991 Trasi's portraiture won First Prize in the Toronto Mayor's Committee Photography Contest on Aging. Her work has been exhibited at the Royal Bank of Canada, the Ontario College of Art & Design, the University of Toronto Center for Studies of Aging, and the Toronto Reference Library.
